Carlon Carlon B108r-upc Single Gang Switch & Outlet Box, Shallow, Flanged, Old Work, Pvc

The Carlon B108R-UPC is a shallow flanged single-gang outlet box designed for old-work (retrofit) installations where existing walls must be updated with new switches or receptacles. This compact PVC enclosure mounts directly to drywall using its integrated flanged rim, eliminating the need to cut large openings or modify wall studs. It solves the common remodeling challenge of fitting electrical boxes into tight spaces while maintaining a clean, professional appearance.

Ideal for electricians and DIY homeowners tackling renovation projects, this box accommodates standard single-gang switches and outlets with minimal wall damage. Its shallow 1-1/4 inch depth makes it perfect for applications where traditional deeper boxes cannot fit behind existing trim or fixtures.

Features and Benefits

• Shallow depth design: At only 1-1/4 inches deep, this box fits tight spaces where standard electrical boxes cannot, ideal for low-profile retrofit applications.
• Flanged mounting edge: The integrated flange provides secure surface-mount anchoring to drywall without requiring additional hardware, delivering a flush, professional finish.
• PVC material: Non-metallic construction simplifies handling and installation during retrofit projects.
• 8 cubic inch capacity: Sufficient interior volume for most single-gang switches, outlets, and associated wiring, meeting NEC code requirements for old-work boxes.
• Old-work retrofit compatibility: Designed for insertion into existing walls without studs, streamlining renovation and remodeling projects while reducing labor time.
• Non-metallic cable rated: Specifically designed and listed for use with non-metallic sheathed cable and compatible with 90-degree C connectors.
